Cleveland Uncommon Sound Project (CUSP) presents
Tatsuya Nakatani with CUSP Improvisation Orchestra

CUSP is proud to present the return of avant-garde percussionist Tatsuya Nakatani to Cleveland. Nakatani will be accompanied by CUSP Improvisation Orchestra, a chamber orchestra of acoustic instrumental musicians who will join together for the first time that night. With Nakatnai as the featured soloist, they will collaboratively perform a concert-length structured improvisation centered around the immersive sounds of Japanese gongs and other percussion, along with the orchestral timbres of strings, woodwinds, and brass.

$15 recommended ticket price or pay what you can. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.

Masks are encouraged.

About the artist:
Tatsuya Nakatani is an avant-garde percussionist, composer, and artist of sound. Active internationally since the 1990s, Nakatani has released over 80 recordings and tours extensively, performing over 150 concerts a year. His primary focus is his solo work and his large ensemble project, the Nakatani Gong Orchestra. He teaches master classes and lectures at universities and music conservatories around the world. Originally from Japan, he makes his home in the desert town of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. With his activity in new music, improvisation, and experimental music, Nakatani has a long history of collaboration.
